God's Holy Spaceship
Rev 21: 9-27
I find it interesting how I interpret the Bible in terms of the metaphors available to me today. I envision God's Borg cube descending from heaven a la Close Encounters of the Third Kind -- all the while beautifully decorated with gems from World of Warcraft --- moss agate, citrine, iridescent pearl, and let us not forget, lesser moonstone (although I suppose God would bling his crib with GREATER moonstone).*
Something that hits me too is that I don't think this passage is itself figurative or metaphorical -- although it is filled with much symbolism. Crazy to think that one day this huge city is gonna land on mother earth.
*omitted that it was crafted by artisan blacksmiths from many, many gold bars
