Jer. 1:13-19

ok, first thing that comes to mind after reading this passage - why in the world does God "summon" other cities to invade Jerusalem and then tells them that Jerusalem will not be overcomed because He has fortified them? It just almost feels like God is proving Himself to the people of Jerusalem. I guess God does have to show us His power in order for us to catch attention of His presence. To remind us that He is almighty, since we often forget.
