So Joseph shows what a great businessman he was by using this 'insider information' of prosperous years followed by severe famine to the benefit of Pharoah by basically enslaving everyone in Egypt to serving Pharoah after having them sell off their livestock and lands to him because they ran out of money to pay for food.
