1 John 3:16-18
I'm taking a break from reading Joshua today because I'm focusing on this particular passage for my BASIC lesson on Saturday. It's one of my favorite passages in the Bible because it reminds me that Godly love is:
1) Sacrificial
2) Compassionate
3) Active
"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth."
Coincidentally, it was the verse from my year on AACF CORE, but I'm always moved by both the message and the artistry of the verse.
